Policies

Guests staying at Vara Guest House Lodging, Cabin Rentals & RV Park agree to the following policies.

Pet Policy:

Well-behaved and socialized dogs may be permitted with advanced approval. No aggressive breeds or dogs are allowed. The owners have three small dogs on the premises as well, and guests bringing dogs are solely responsible for the safety and welfare of their own dog(s). As required by law, all dogs residing on Vara Guest House property must be current on rabies vaccination, and guests must provide a current rabies certificate on request. An additional fee will be assessed to the credit card on file upon checkout for any excessive cleaning or damage caused by dogs. In addition, we reserve the right to require a damage deposit that may be refunded upon check-out, assuming no excessive cleaning or damage caused by dogs. Cats or any other type of pets are not permitted. Guests who violate our pet policy by having a pet on the premises without our approval or have more than the approved number of dogs on the premises may be asked to check out before their scheduled departure date without a refund of any monies already paid.

Check-in / Check-out:

Check-in is generally 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Check-out is by 11 a.m. Flexibility in this policy may be available with advanced request.

Fees and Deposits:

An additional fee will be assessed to the credit card on file upon check-out for any damage or missing items. For extended stays, we reserve the right to require a damage deposit which may be partially or fully refunded upon check-out, assuming no excessive cleaning, damage, or missing items.

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be made by 6 p.m. three days prior to check-in, or a penalty of one night’s rate will be assessed. Reserving three or more rooms consecutively for two or more nights may require 100% prepayment at least one week prior to check-in. Amounts prepaid are nonrefundable if the reservation is canceled. Discounted rates quoted as 100% prepaid are not refundable.

Smoking:

No smoking inside any building, cabin, camper, or other structure. Outside smoking in designated areas only. A minimum $250 smoke removal fee will be assessed and charged to the card on file for violation of this policy, and guest(s) may be asked to leave prior to scheduled check-out without refund of any monies already paid.

Noise Policy:

Out of consideration for all of our guests, we strive to maintain a peaceful environment at all times, while still allowing guests to enjoy our spaces and amenities.  Excessive noise that could be a disturbance to other guests is not permitted at any time. Owners reserve the right to ask guests to lower the volumes of music, TVs, voices, etc. if those volumes are causing a disturbance to others. If in doubt, please ask.

Fire Policy:

For your enjoyment there are several propane and wood fire pits on property. During certain times when fire risk is high, the county will implement a burn ban.  During times that a burn ban is in effect, guests are not permitted under any circumstances to start a wood burning fire. At all times, fires are never permitted when winds exceed 15 MPH. If in doubt, please ask.

Miscellaneous:

Other policies apply to the use of certain facilities, including but not limited to kitchen use, rv park rules, designated outdoor smoking areas, laundry facilities, etc.  Policies regarding these amenities are posted, and guests are expected to abide by all of these policies at all times.

Housekeeping:

Housekeeping is provided on request, for our guests staying more than three nights.  Full housekeeping service is provided once weekly for those guests staying 7 nights or longer, on request, unless a different arrangement is made in advance.  Guests are encouraged to dispose of trash on a daily basis.

Alcoholic Beverages:

Guests age 21 and older are permitted to bring alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by any person under the age of 21 is strictly prohibited. Public intoxication is not permitted.

Additional Guests:

Guests are permitted to have temporary guests on the premises. The number of additional guests is limited to two, unless advanced arrangements are made.

Lost Keys:

A $20 fee will be assessed for each lost key.

Policy Violation Notice:

Vara Guest House reserves the right to require a guest to check out before their scheduled departure date, without notice, for violation of our policies.
